Hiking is a great way to get and stay fit.
Many New Years' resolutions involve implementing healthier activities to make lifestyle changes. If you plan on hiking this spring and summer, you may already be stocking up on the various supplies you may need. Many remember to bring water, a first aid kit, and bug spray, but often forget about how to really protect themselves from the dangers that poisonous plants can pose. The good news is that Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro (formerly Rhus Tox) allows you to start your preparation now! By building your immune system before plants grow, you give your body time to adjust to the initial dose for the best possible chances of success.
When and how to start
It is safe to begin an Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro course at any time of year, but the earlier you begin your treatment course, the better.
Follow this process if you’re ready to begin taking Outdoor Joe's in winter, preferably February is best.
- Phase 1: During Phase 1, take the recommended dose of Outdoor Joe's once a week for three consecutive weeks. We recommend that you take the dose on the same day of the week each week. Make sure not to miss your next dosage to ensure effectiveness. Do not take more than the recommended dosage.
Note: It’s best to take the medication before bed or between meals. Hold the solution in your mouth for 30 seconds before swallowing. Mint-flavored foods such as mouthwash and mints and eating should be avoided for 30 minutes after taking medication.
- Phase 2: After you’ve completed the weekly dosing phase, switch to taking Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro just once a month for the summer months. Again, it’s essential to the success of the solution to remember your monthly dose to reduce sensitivity.
Starting Outdoor Joe's in the winter is not a requirement. You can begin anytime. When you’re ready to start taking the solution, follow the phased dosing plan outlined above carefully.
Important Note: if you start taking Outdoor Joe's during the plant’s active growth phase in late spring and early summer, you must stay away from poisonous plants until you’ve taken at least the first three doses to avoid an allergic reaction. For those with a more severe reaction to poison ivy, it is recommended to continue taking Outdoor Joe's throughout the entire year for the best results. Results vary based on individual and proper dosage guidelines.
What to avoid before and after Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro
When it comes to adding any medication or homeopathic solution to your routine, you want to make sure you are informed about food interactions. While homeopathic solutions tend to be free from harmful interactions with food in most cases, there are certain combinations to avoid. There are no known dangerous food combinations when taking Outdoor Joe's.
When taking Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro (formerly Rhus Tox), it is recommended to avoid the following:
- Mints and mint flavored items
- Mouthwash and toothpaste
- Orange Juice
- Strong beverages
While these will not have negative consequences, they can lead to an unpleasant taste. You should not eat or drink for roughly 30 minutes after taking this homeopathic solution.
If you decide to start taking the solution after the wintertime, you still need to stay away from all poisonous plants until after you’ve finished taking your three weekly doses. If you are not familiar with the ways you can get poison ivy you may want to review our brief overview of the facts.
