In this blog, we will do our best to answer your questions and make sure that you know as much as possible about Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro® (formerly Rhus Tox) Oral Solution before trying it for yourself.
Most of the questions we have been asked in the first few days of May have had to do with the difference between Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro® Oral Solution and other products who offer their Rhus Toxicodendron in “tablet” form. So we will jump right in to explain some of the most frequently asked questions about poison ivy prevention treatment.
Why is there such a price difference between Outdoor Joe's® Oral Solution and companies offering tablets?
The short answer is that you have to take more of the tablets to achieve any kind of therapeutic relief.
To ensure that you are getting a proper dose of Rhus Toxicodendron, you need to take more of the tablets because they may contain less of the ingredient that helps reduce sensitivity to poisonous plant reactions. Because tablets may contain less Rhus Toxicodendron they are, therefore, less expensive.
With Outdoor Joe's® Oral Solution you know that each dose is going to have a sufficient amount of Rhus Toxicodendron. With our oral solution, you know that the doses are consistent and you aren't getting short-changed on the results you expect to achieve in reducing sensitivity.
Having a consistent dose will give you the peace of mind that you are on your way to reducing sensitivity to poisonous plant reactions. Having consistency will also ensure that you will be able to reduce sensitivity to reactions faster than you would with tablets.
With our oral solution you have a guarantee that what you are using comes from the original Outdoor Joe's® tincture, which also generates a lot of question from website visitors.
What does 6x/12x mean?
On the label of Outdoor Joe's® Oral Solution you will see the Ingredients: Outdoor Joe's® 6x/12x. What this means is that the tincture (see below) has been diluted 6 times, and the resulting dilution is then diluted 12 times.
Are the tablets just coated with Rhus Toxicodendron (RT)?
The process for manufacturing tablets is that they are “misted” with a RT solution in a large drum. Due to the nature of this process, the consumer doesn’t receive a guarantee of the dose of RT that is in each tablet.
Some tablets may contain more RT and some may have less. The Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro® Oral Solution provides a dilution ratio on the label, to guarantee that each drop of our solution contains the necessary RT to help you reduce sensitivity to poisonous plant reactions.
Is taking the actual oral solution better than taking tablets?
Once open, the tablets don't have a very long shelf-life. Unlike Outdoor Joe's® Oral Solution, the tablets can become moldy and unsafe for consumption after opening if they are not stored properly.
Outdoor Joe's Poison Ivy Pro® Oral Solution makes it easier for you to get a constant dose of RT and ensures that you are reducing sensitivity as quickly as possible.
Be sure to carefully review all of the information above before you decide which product you trust to use for your poison ivy prevention needs.
