View post titled Dear Outdoor Joe, Got any tips for Disk Golfers?

Happy to hear from a new group of nature lovers!

We receive all kinds of questions about Outdoor Joe’s® Poison Ivy Solution! Questions about usage, methodology, ingredients, safety and more. One of our favorite questions is: who can use Outdoor Joe’s®? The answer to this question is simple: anyone! Outdoor Joe’s® is for anyone who spends time in nature. We love hearing how many ways our fans are enjoying nature worry-free. In this article, John writes in to tell Outdoor Joe® that our product could be beneficial to disc golf players.

Disc Golf Background

For those unfamiliar, disc golf (also known as Frisbee Golf) is an outdoor sport with gameplay similar to traditional golf. Players stand on a designated tee pad and throw a polypropylene disc toward a target. If a player’s disc is thrown out of bounds, it often lands in some form of natural terrain. Courses are often surrounded by trees, brush, creeks, and other natural features; many even require players to walk through wooded areas in order to get to the next tee pad.

Dear Outdooor Joe,

As disc golfers, we are always at risk of contacting poison ivy. As a course designer and maintainer, I get a rash every year. In fact, I have already healed from my first round of minor rash this season.

I also have a retail disc golf shop and I think your product could be something the disc golf community needs to hear about. I would absolutely consider stocking it on the shelf next to my CBD tincture. I would also like to try your product for myself.

John

We think John is the perfect candidate for both Zanfel® and Outdoor Joe's®! Here's what Joe thinks:

Dear John,

Working in the great outdoors is both a privilege and a challenge! As a disc golf course maintainer, it sounds like you’ve had plenty of run-ins with poison ivy. Luckily, Outdoor Joe’s® can help.

They don't call me "'ol Jump Putt Joe" for nothin'! (Ok, actually no one calls me that, but yes. I'm no Bagger and have seen my share of Safari holes!)

Every disc golfer has felt the moment of dread as a disc (carried off by the wind, of course) goes flying into the thick surrounding woods. Unfortunately, the foliage hiding your disc is riddled with poison oak, poison sumac, poison ivy, and countless other unfriendly plants. In the heat of the summer no one wants to play in long pants and knee-high socks, which means you’re tromping though the woods in your t-shirt, shorts and ankle socks.

Unless you are fortunate enough to find your disc exactly where you expected it to be, your rescue mission might require some serious tree-climbing, log-jumping, high-stepping, creek-wading, branch-ducking maneuvers. With each step, the threat of brushing up against a poisonous plant grows. Fear not! Outdoor Joe’s® is here to make sure the only thing you leave the woods with is your disc.

Outdoor Joe’s® Poison Ivy Pro uses an ingredient called Rhus Toxicodendron to reduce sensitivity to poisonous plants like poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. When usage and dosage directions are followed correctly, Outdoor Joe’s® can significantly reduce (and often prevent) the effects of poisonous plants.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve already had a run-in with one of these nasty plants. If you are still experiencing discomfort (or if you think you might in the future) I would recommend a treatment of the one and only Zanfel Poison Ivy, Poison Oak & Sumac Wash. It relieves pain, itching and irritation after just 30 seconds, and can heal up to 80% of the rash within 24 hours.

Thanks for writing in John! I’m glad to hear that our treatment and prevention products are being introduced to a new group of nature-lovers. Feel free to write me back after you’ve tried Outdoor Joe’s® and let me know how it worked!

Sincerely,
Outdoor Joe

P.S - To any other disc golfers reading, take some Outdoor Joe’s® and then take your time finding that missing disc.

Prevention

We agree with Outdoor Joe! Our poison ivy solution is perfect for disc golf players and course maintainers like John. While we recommend starting Outdoor Joe’s® Poison Ivy Pro in the winter months to allow your body time to build resistance, there is no need to wait if you plan to be outside in the next few months.

Treatment

If you’ve already been exposed or developed a rash this season, Outdoor Joe has you covered! Zanfel Poison Ivy, Oak & Sumac Wash® is a safe and effective topical solution for the reaction caused by exposure to poison ivy, poison oak, and sumac. Zanfel is a specially formulated wash that is clinically proven to remove urushiol, the toxin found in poison ivy, oak and sumac, from the skin and relieve itching ANYTIME after an outbreak.
